Crew Bios
Rod Bingaman (Writer/Director) is a former Boston-based filmmaker with sixteen years of industry experience, including work on feature films, commercials, broadcast television and corporate communications. Among his credits are the feature film A Holiday Affair, winner of the Audience Award at the Brooklyn Film Festival 2000, the award-winning short film Why Wilbur Bowls... He was the recipient of the Dean's Excellence Award for teaching at Penn State University's College of Communications in 2001.
Maura E. Shea (Producer) is also a former Boston-based filmmaker and editor now teaching at Penn State University. She has numerous feature film credits as both editor and sound designer on a variety of projects, including the Peabody Award-winning PBS documentary Malcolm X: Make It Plain . Her short film Under Control was honored by both the Redstone Film Festival (1993) and won first prize at the National Council on Family Relations (1993). She is proud to call Rod Bingaman her husband and they live in State College, PA with their two lovely daughters.
Jeff Preston (Cinematographer) is a Philly based lenser who is about to break out. He has numerous credits as both a Cinematographer and Producer, most notably for One Man Show (Cinequest 2004), The Grange Fair: An American Tradition (aired on PBS in August 2004 ) and as 2 nd unit cinematographer on A Holiday Affair .
Joann Vara (Production Designer) is a regular Gal Friday, having worked in pictures as a Production Designer, Art Director, Set Decorator, Prop and Wardrobe stylist. Her credits include various broadcast programs on the Food Network and Nickelodeon, as well as print for a couple of pulps called People and InStyle . She likes to dress a catalogue set or store window once in awhile too, hoofing for the likes of Saks Fifth Avenue, Lerner's and Henri Bendel. She's a New Yorker.
Katie Schmidt-Feder (Costume Designer) is a wiz when it comes to putting on the nines for uptown or downtown. She's Colorado kid who hit it in the New York theatre scene, working on various productions as a Costume Designer, Director and Actor. She also designs wedding tiaras and runs an exclusive boutique in Brooklyn, NY.
